Carlos Prieto is a 30 year veteran of the San Joaquin County Sheriffs Department. His assignments have included: custody division, patrol division, department range-master/armorer, and transportation division.
In the position of Range-master/Armorer, he was responsible for the creation and implementation of realistic courses of fire for qualifications, in-service, remedial and tactical training. He was also responsible for the maintenance and repair of all firearms within the Sheriffs department, as well as the training site.
Carlos received his initial (CA) POST certification as a Firearms Instructor and Armorer, then continued to seek additional training and certification while in the capacity of range-master. He also completed additional firearms and tactical training courses, at his own expense, within and outside the state of California.
Based on his firearms and training experience, Carlos was selected as a firearms instructor at the Ray Simon, Police Academy in Modesto, CA. He was also an adjunct instructor at the San Joaquin Delta College Police Academy for 18 years.
