Concealed Carry Prep Training is for the student who has applied for a CCW permit and would like training that will prepare them for their upcoming course.
This is a 4 hour course of instruction on the proper application of using a handgun and holster, as it relates to legal concealed carry. The student will learn the foundational techniques on how to safely draw and re-holster a handgun from concealed carry, as well as how to select the proper handgun and holster and related equipment (EDC flashlight, mag holder, etc.) Proper stance, grip and presentation will also be reinforced in this course of instruction.
Upon completion, the student will have the proper mindset on what to expect in their upcoming formal CCW class.
Equipment Needed:
- Cleaned/oiled handgun ( pistol or revolver)
- 2 magazines for the pistol, or 2 speed loaders for the revolver
- A suitable CCW holster (inside or outside the waistband)
- 50-75 rounds of ammo
- Eye/ear protection
- A pant belt is needed to help secure the holster
Note: If the student has no handgun/holster at the start of this prep course, we will provide them at no extra cost.
Students will provide their own ammo.
Cost:
$100 tuition per student,
plus $20 range entrance fee.
This is an 16 hour course that will educate the private citizen on the laws and principles of concealed carry. The course will divide into classroom lecture regarding justifiable use of force by a private citizen, and range demonstrations of proper concealed carry techniques. Course content also includes alternative options for personal defense and how to mentally prepare for confrontation.
Course Content will Include:
- Principles of personal defense
- Alternative personal defense options
- Justifiable use of force, including lethal force, by a private citizen
- Current California handgun laws
- Concepts of concealed carry; the proper firearm and holster
- Various carry methods; advantages and limitations
- Having the complete concealed carry package
- Review of safe weapons handling
- Basic course of fire to ensure safety and knowledge of weapon
- Proper draw and re-holstering from concealed carry (dry fire only)
- Live fire proficiency courses
- Use of flashlight from concealed carry
- Awareness/confrontation drills
Equipment Needed:
- Clean and oiled firearm with at least one extra magazine or speed loader
- Suitable holster for firearm
(must secure the weapon and cover the trigger guard)
- Small, reliable flashlight (we will provide some for course use only)
- 150 rounds of factory ammunition for each weapon
- Eye and ear protection
- Suitable jacket or other garment to practice drawing from concealed carry
PREREQUISITES:
Concealed carry requires great moral responsibility and a strong commitment to training. Thus, students will have a strong working knowledge of their selected handgun. Prior range handling and experience, or having completed a basic handgun course is a must. Drawing, firing, and re-holstering from a concealed carry position requires extreme safe weapons handling.
DO NOT enroll in this course if your level of safety and proficiency is below what is expected from an experienced shooter. We recommend taking a basic handgun course or handgun refresher course, prior to taking a concealed carry course.
Cost:
$225 tuition per student,
plus $20 daily range entrance fee.
This is an 8 hour course of training, which is mandatory for renewal applicants per guidelines set by the California Department of Justice. Course content will include instruction on firearm safety, laws regarding permissible use of a firearm and completion of a course of fire relevant to concealed carry.
Course Content will Include:
- Review of current handgun laws
- Permissible use of a firearm
- Review of safe weapon handling
- Relevant courses of fire
Equipment Needed:
- Authorized concealed carry handgun(s)
- One extra magazine for the pistol, or speed loader/speed strip for the revolver
- 50 rounds ammunition for each weapon
- Suitable holster for concealed carry and cover garment
- Eye and ear protection
Cost:
$125 tuition per student,
plus $20 range entrance fee.
This is a 5 hour training session wherein students with an active CCW permit can train with their entire CCW equipment. The students will participate in a number of foundational and progressive drills, relevant to Concealed Carry. We will start each session with a review of foundational skills and then proceed with a new set of tactical skills.
Equipment Needed:
- Cleaned and oiled pistol or revolver
- A suitable CCW holster for each handgun
- Two magazines needed for each pistol, or two speed loaders for each revolver
- 80 rounds needed for the primary handgun
- 30 rounds needed for any secondary handgun
- Eye/ear protection needed
- An everyday carry (EDC) flashlight suitable for CCW training.
Note: We will also provide flashlights for course use only.
Prerequisite:
Student must currently have an active/valid CCW permit.
Cost:
$60 tuition per student,
plus $20 range entrance fee.
Concealed Carry, Team Tactics, is an 8 hour course of instruction that will introduce the CCW student on the tactics and strategies of working in pairs, if involved in a violent encounter.
This course is designed for the citizens who travel or associate together in public, and who legally carry a concealed handgun. Examples would include: husband/wife, mother/daughter/, father/son, friends, etc.
Course Content will Include:
- Working as a team, duties and responsibilities
- Proper team communication skills
- 360 degree threat assessment
- Safe shooting and movement, in pairs
Equipment Needed:
- Cleaned and oiled handgun
- A suitable holster for CCW
- A belt is needed to secure the holster
- 2 magazines, or 2 speed loaders for your handgun
- 100 rounds of ammo each
- Tactical EDC flashlight
- Eye/ear protection
Prerequisite:
Student must currently have an active/valid CCW permit.
Cost:
$125 tuition per student,
plus $20 range entrance fee.
